Notes on Postcolonial Governments in Asia and India's History

Aung San Suu Kyi is a Myanmar politician, diplomat, and author who served as the State Counsellor of Myanmar from 2016 to February 2021. She is a key figure in Myanmar's opposition to military rule and became an international symbol of peaceful resistance in the face of oppression. Suu Kyi was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991 for her nonviolent struggle for democracy and human rights in Myanmar. Her leadership, however, has been controversial due to the handling of the Rohingya crisis and her government's response to human rights concerns, leading to criticism from parts of the international community.
