  • One way to talk about the past is using the imperfect tense, use it to talk about actions that occurred repeatedly in the past. 

  • Regular forms of -ar, -er, -ir verbs:

  • Because yo and Ud./él/ella forms are the same in the imperfect verbs, speakers usually use subject pronouns to avoid confusion. 

  • Expressions like generalmente, por lo general, a menudo, muchas veces, de vez en cuando, todos los días, and nunca can cue you to use imperfect because they imply something has occurred multiple times in the past.
