Production Check Outline

1. Equipment Inspection

  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitary condition of all equipment for processing, transfer, filling, and containers.

  • Confirm that only approved materials are in use.

2. Sampling Procedures

  • Take samples during and after processing, transfer, or filling for:

    • Adequacy of mixing or processing

    • Absence of hazardous microorganisms or chemical contaminants

    • Compliance with acceptance specifications

3. Material Weighing and Identification

  • Weighing and measuring of raw materials must be verified by a second person.

  • Ensure proper identification of containers holding materials.

4. Equipment and Container Identification

  • Major equipment, transfer lines, containers, and tanks must be identified with:

    • Contents

    • Batch designation

    • Control status

  • Labels are to be examined for identity before labeling operations to prevent mix-ups.

5. Batch Handling and Labeling

  • Ensure that equipment for processing, holding, transferring, and filling batches is labeled regarding:

    • Identity

    • Batch identification

    • Control status

6. Finished Product Coding

  • Packages of finished products must bear permanent code marks.

7. Returned Products Examination

  • Examine returned cosmetics for any signs of deterioration or contamination.
