analysing data

Statistically, an average is defined as the number that measures the central tendency of a given set of numbers. There are a number of different averages including but not limited to: mean, median and mode

Mean, median, and mode are three kinds of "averages". There are many "averages" in statistics, but these are the three most common, and are certainly the three you are most likely to encounter.

When processing raw data you will need to find out a measure of central tendency (in our case, mean or median) and a measure of dispersion (range, standard deviation)

You must include (You need to show only ONE example for each calculation):

Justification of whether mean or median is appropriate, based on whether there are outliers
