Light Wave Characteristics
Light Wave Properties
- Amplitude: Determines the brightness of the stimulus.
- Purity of Wavelengths: Determines the perceived saturation (richness) of a visual stimulus.
Saturation and Color
- White Light: A combination of color wavelengths, perceived as colorless (e.g., sunlight).
- Pure Colors: Contain no white light; located on the outside of a color tree representation.
- Adding White Light: Moving closer to the center of a color tree indicates more white light added to a single wavelength, resulting in pastel colors from deep colors.
Brightness
- Light waves with greater amplitude produce brighter light.
