Chapter 1: Introduction

  • Apocrine Gland:

    • Produces material broken down by bacteria to create body odor.

    • Found in axillary and anogenital regions.

  • Hair Follicle:

    • Consists of shaft, bulb, and root.

  • Erector Pili Muscle:

    • Contracts under autonomic innervation to make hair stand up.

  • Sebaceous Gland:

    • Produces oily secretion called sebum for lubrication and bactericidal effects.
