• Pharmacodynamics = the effect of drugs on the body, what the drug does to the body

• Pharmacokinetics = how drugs move into the body and are eliminated, what the body does to the drug

Why is pharmacokinetics important for drug development?

• How big of a dose to give, dose frequency

• Which route of administation - ADMET (absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity)

• Determining toxic concentrations
