Use when you want to compare two
sample means to each other (no
population parameters are necessary) and
when the selection of one person is in no
way dependent on selection of another
person. Two sample means, one
explanatory and one response variable.
Null: There is no difference between
sample 1 mean and sample 2 mean.
Alternative: There is a difference between
sample 1mean and sample 2 mean.

found using statistical software.
