In psychology, the debate of free will and determinism is that ‘is our behaviour is a matter of free will or are we products of internal/external influences?’. The concept of free will suggests humans are free to make our own choices, there are biological and environmental influences on our behaviour but we are able to reject these influences due to free will. However, most approaches are deterministic. Determinism can either be hard, suggesting all human action has a cause, or soft, suggesting all human action has a cause but we have freedom to make choices
