  • Comparing objects to prove a point

Simile:

  • Comparing unlike objects to prove a point using like or as

Change in Tone:

  • When the tone shifts, it is usually purposeful

Personification:

  • Helping to connect to an idea or object by making it seem human

Rhetorical Question:

  • Making the audience think about something and usually cause emotional response
