Karl Marx (Vocab)

While I know the meanings of these words, I have looked them up in a hard-copy version of Webster's Seventh New Collegiate Dictionary (the old-fashioned way).  

inexorable = relentless; not be the persuaded or moved by entreaty

eclectic = selecting what appears to be best in various doctrines, methods, or styles

dichotomy = a division of the process of dividing into two mutually exclusive or contradictory groups 

metaphysical = highly abstract or abtruse  

enigma = puzzle

malevolent = evil-intentioned

benevolent = antonym of malevolent 

dialectic = any systematic reasoning, exposition, or argument (in literature, philosophy, or social sciences) that juxtaposes opposed or contradictory ideas

behemoth = something of oppressive or monstrous size or power 

utopia = an imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect

dystopia = an imagined state or society in which there is great suffering or injustice, typically one that is totalitarian or post-apocalyptic
