Aims

  • The aim tells you the purpose of the investigation. It is often expressed in terms of hwat the study intends to show. Can be written as a question.

Example: Dr. Blot wants to know which is most effective way to study. Dr. Blot’s aim- to investigate whether mind maps or review apps are more effective at helping students learn.

Hypotheses

  • Predict the findings of a study

    • Experimental includes IV and DV fully operationalized

    • Correlational will have both measured variables operationalized

    • 2 main types of hypotheses called experimantal or alternative hypothesis

      • Directional (one-tailed)

      • Non directional (two-tailed)
