1. fecund – adj – this is said of someone of something who/that is capable of producing offspring

or vegetation or fruit – it’s perhaps more commonly used to describe someone who is

intellectually productive

2. forte – noun - something in which a person excels; a strong point, it’s also the strong part of a

sword blade, but DO NOT use that one! -OR- adverb – said/sung/played in a loud, forceful

manner

3. glib – adj said of something that is performed superficial and/or insincere ease and

informality, it can also describe someone who is fluent in speech and writing

4. hyperbole – noun -- an exaggeration or extravagant statement used as a figure of speech

5. incendiary – adj – causing or capable of causing fire, this fire can be literal like a building or

figurative, like an inflammatory remark -OR- noun – an arsonist

6. insipid – adj said of someone or something who/that lacks excitement or who is vapid –

basically, it is describing something/someone that/who is unpalatable

7. lexicon – noun – in brief it’s a dictionary, most accurately, it’s YOUR working vocabulary

8. obsequious – adj – this is a person word – it is said of someone who is full of servile

compliance and/or fawning behavior – it SEEMS like you would enjoy this type of person, but

it just gets annoying

9. palpable – adj – said of something that is capable of being handled, touched, or felt; tangible,

it also means easily perceived like “As soon as I walked into the room the tension was

palpable; it was obvious they had been arguing.”

10.perdition – noun – this is the loss of the Soul; eternal damnation; Hell – it’s a nice way to

avoid the 4-letter word haha

11.perspicacious – adj- this is a person word used to describe someone who is exceedingly

discerning, this person always has a clear perspective and understanding of any given

situation

12.rapacious – adj – this is said of someone (or their actions) who take by force or via plundering

13.secular – adj – said of things which pertain to the temporal rather than to the spiritual

14.sloth – noun – DO NOT tell me the animal!! Use it in the figurative sense - an aversion to work

or exertion being lazy and/or indolent

15.squalid – adj – said so someone of something who/that has a dirty or wretched appearance –

this can also be figurative to describe someone who is morally repulsive or sordid

16.tenet – noun - an opinion, doctrine, principle, or dogma held by a person or, an organization

17.unbridled – adj – said of someone or something who/that is unrestrained and uncontrolled

18.vacuous – adj – said so something that is devoid of matter; empty (like a vacuum) but more

often it is used to describe someone who is stupid or dull-witted – it can also be used to

describe someone’s expression
