Organizational Communication: Communication within organizations, involving formal and informal structures.
Formal Structure: Designated channels of message flow.
Informal Structure: The "grapevine" (rumors, gossips).
Formal vs Informal Communication
Formal Communication: Uses formal language, delivered orally or in written form. Objective: inform, entertain, persuade. (e.g., lectures, reports).
Informal Communication: Personal, ordinary conversations. Purpose: socialize and enhance relationships. (e.g., face-to-face, phone calls, texts).
Intercultural Communication
Communication between people from different linguistic, religious, ethnic, social, and professional backgrounds.
