What do we need?

  • ways of collecting data in standard way to make comparisons

    • constant data

  • e..g some systems automatically date and time, know when logged out rather than manual documentation

  • if don’t answer consistently unable to see trends

  • national shared data sets e.g. NHI

  • privacy acts - data = consent - how to manage security

  • immunisation shared database

  • cannot make lots of intros it’s purely hospital database

  • are we making most of resources?

  • each shift - how sick they are must be updated


Need for consistent data

  • need consistency to make sense of data

  • regular monitoring - what is this? every month, evey day? twice a day?

  • must specify what we want - some systems can do this - alert vital signs are due e.g. in middle more and north shore, not in auckland


Purpose of ISO 18104 (2022 draft international standard)
