Elijah on Mount Carmel

    • Elijah vs. 450 prophets of Baal; each prepares a bull without lighting fire.

Origins of the Carmelite Order

  • 1251, Aylesford, England: Our Lady appears to Carmelite Prior General St. Simon Stock.

  • She gives the Brown Scapular: “Receive … this Scapular; … whoever dies clothed in this shall not suffer eternal fire.”
