Scientific Method

Scientific method: a series of steps followed to solve problems (data collection, hypothesis, etc.)

Research question: a question that could be answered by conducting aan experiment

Hypothesis: a testable prediction

Conclusion: A summary based on evidence/facts

Independent variable: variable that is changed by the investigator, x axis

Dependent variable: the outcome of the independent variable

Controlled variable: variable that is not changed

Control group: group that is not given the treatment to be compared to the effects of the treatment

Experimental treatment: aka the independent variable, IS exposed to treatment
