The group of people in society who hold the most power and are often (but not always) in the majority.
Geneaology: A line of descent traced continuously from one ancestor to another.
Culture: The way a group of people who share similar beliefs and customs live their daily lives. This includes thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, values, customs, clothing, behaviors, artifacts that are shared by racial, ethnic, religious, or social groups of people.
__Surface Culture: __Observable patterns in social groups. This includes foods (how they eat food), holidays, art, folklore, limericks, historical and humanitarian contributions, personalities.
Shallow Culture: Unspoken rules in social groups. Nonverbal communication, social hierarchy, concepts of time, life cycles, space and proximity, expectations for hospitality, social interactions, friendships, gender roles, beauty expectations, and patterns of handling emotions.
Deep Culture: Collective unconcious → deeply impacts trust. Ex: Ethics and morallity, family ties, health and medicine, religion, and values.
