اللّٰهُمَّ احْرُسْنِي بِعَيْنِكَ الَّتِي لَا تَنَامُ ، وَاكْنُفْنِي بِرُكْنِكَ الَّذِي لَا يُرَامُ ، وَارْحَمْنِي بِقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَيَّ فَلَا أَهْلِكَ وَأَنْتَ رَجائِي

Authenticity:

This du'a is authentic and found in various sources, including al-Tirmidhi and Sunan Ibn Majah, with slight variations in wording. It is a supplication for seeking Allah’s protection and mercy, and it is widely accepted among scholars.

Translation and Explanation:

1. "اللّٰهُمَّ احْرُسْنِي بِعَيْنِكَ الَّتِي لَا تَنَامُ" (O Allah, protect me with Your Eye that never sleeps):

This phrase is asking Allah for protection by His constant vigilance and care. The "Eye that never sleeps" refers to Allah's all-seeing, ever-watchful nature, meaning that He is always aware and guarding His creation. Unlike human beings, Allah's watchfulness is continuous and never falters.

2. "وَاكْنُفْنِي بِرُكْنِكَ الَّذِي لَا يُرَامُ" (And envelop me with Your support which cannot be overthrown):

This part seeks Allah's protection by His "Rukn" (a strong, unshakable support). The term "Rukn" refers to something solid, dependable, and invincible—Allah's strength and refuge, which no one can overcome. This is a plea for Allah's strong and unshakable protection.

3. "وَارْحَمْنِي بِقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَيَّ فَلَا أَهْلِكَ وَأَنْتَ رَجائِي" (And have mercy on me with Your power over me, so I am not destroyed, for You are my hope):

Here, the supplicant asks for Allah's mercy based on His immense power and authority. The phrase "I am not destroyed" implies seeking protection from harm and calamity, and the acknowledgment that Allah is the ultimate source of hope and mercy.
