A. Smooth Muscle

  • Main Parts:

    1. Smooth muscle cells

    2. Nucleus

    3. Cytoplasm

  • Function:

    • Involuntary contractions

    • Move substances (like food, blood, urine) inside the body

  • Location:

    • Walls of internal organs (stomach, intestines, blood vessels, bladder, uterus)

B. Cardiac Muscle (Heart Muscle)

  • Main Parts:

    1. Cardiac fibers

    2. Intercalated discs

    3. Nucleus

    4. Striations

  • Function:

    • Pump blood continuously

    • Coordinate heartbeats (synchronized contraction)

  • Location:

    • Found only in the heart (myocardium layer)

C. Bone Marrow

  • Main Parts:

    1. Hematopoietic cells

    2. Adipocytes (fat cells)

    3. Bone trabeculae

  • Function:

    • Produce blood cells (red, white, platelets)

    • Store fat for energy

    • Provide structural bone support

  • Location:

    • Inside bones (especially pelvis, sternum, femur, humerus)

Quick Tips:

  • Smooth Muscle = No stripes, slow movement

  • Cardiac Muscle = Branched + striped + strong rhythmic contraction

  • Bone Marrow = Blood cell factory inside spongy bones
