Here is a translation in English of my previous summary:

Psychoanalytic criticism is a form of literary criticism that uses the techniques of psychoanalysis in the interpretation of literature. Sigmund Freud, the main psychoanalyst, postulated that the human mind is made up of two fundamental parts: the conscious and the unconscious. The unconscious is the source of our behaviors, it is like a gatekeeper and a storehouse of facts. It contains our primitive drives, our repressed thoughts and feelings. The unconscious manifests itself in different ways, including dreams, slips of the tongue, and neurotic symptoms.

Freud divided the human psyche into three instances: the id, the ego and the superego. The id is the most primitive part of the psyche. It is governed by the pleasure principle and seeks the immediate satisfaction of needs. The ego is the part of the psyche that is in contact with reality. It is governed by the reality principle and seeks to satisfy the desires of the id in a way that is acceptable to the outside world. The superego is the part of the psyche that represents morality and ideals. It develops from the internalization of parental and social rules and prohibitions.

The Oedipus complex is a central concept in Freudian theory. It describes the unconscious sexual desire that the child feels for the parent of the opposite sex and the rivalry he feels towards the parent of the same sex. Freud believed that the resolution of the Oedipus complex was essential to the development of a healthy personality.

Freud was also interested in human sexuality. He believed that sexuality was a powerful force that influenced human behavior. He developed a theory of infantile sexuality which posited that children went through different phases of sexual development.

Finally, Freud developed a theory of dream analysis. He believed that dreams were the royal road to the unconscious. He thought that dreams were disguised expressions of unconscious desires and drives. Dream analysis involves deciphering the latent content of the dream, that is, the hidden meaning behind the images and symbols of the dream.
