Thermal Expansion
Particles of things expand when heated, this affects the volume of solids.
Linear expansion:
Twice the change in length, means twice the original length had and vice versa.
Alpha: Coefficient of linear expansion, small numbers big changes.
Present in two-dimensional figures, like circles, holes expand with plates.
Change in length is the same as diameter or radius (depends)
Bimetals: When something has a higher coefficient of expansion (brass), it can bend more easily than ones with lower coeffcients like steel, but as brass expands it will bend the steel.
