Uses of Glucose from Photosynthesis
Uses of glucose
- Release energy for respiration (takes place in the mitochondria)
- Produce insoluble storage molecule starch, which can be converted into glucose by the plant when it is needed
- Converted to fats and oils, which is used as a storage form of energy
- The cell well contains cellulose, which gives it strength and was made from glucose
- Produces amino acid, which is used to make proteins. To make amino acids, plant need to absorb nitrate ions from the soil
