Born Eric Arthur Blair in 1903 in British India, but moved back to England at 1 year old.
Attended prestigious boarding schools, including Eton College.
His upbringing in a colonial context influenced his views on imperialism and social justice.
Since 5 new he wanted to write books but tried to escape this form 17-21 joining the oppression of Myanmar
Career Beginnings
Worked as a police officer in Burma (now Myanmar), where he witnessed the harsh realities of colonial rule.
This experience fuelled his desire to write about social injustices and the impact of power on individuals.
