Thesis Statement

- Always includes "because".
- Uses strong, clear language with relative qualifiers: often, some, many, most, frequently.
- Avoids personal pronouns like "I" or "you"; uses universal language.
- Avoids mechanical phrases (e.g., "In this essay, I will…" or "in conclusion…").
Introduction Structure
- Starts with a hook (not too specific or broad).
- Relates to the reader.
- Provides context (introduces examples).
- Concludes with a thesis for the essay's roadmap.
Body Paragraphs
- Begins with an argument statement.
- Employs Bottom to Top method:
- Connects personal examples to the topic.
- Avoids introducing new examples; focuses on existing knowledge.
Example Structure (PEEL Method)
- Point: State your argument (topic sentence).
- Evidence: Provide details or examples.
- Explanation: Summarize the connection to the thesis.
- Link: Wrap up the argument without concluding phrases.
