Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive System Act of 2012 (RA 10354)

Reproductive Health Law = Guarantees universal access to methods of Contraception, Fertility Control, Sexual Education, and Maternal Care.

Implies that women and men attain equal relationship in matters related to sexual relation and reproduction.

Family Planning = Provides information and a means for couples and individuals to have the desired number of children that they can responsibly raise.

Importance of family planning:

To mothers

Give time and opportunity to give sufficient attention to themselves.

Responsible Parenthood = About raising children and supporting their needs financially, morally, educationally, teaching them values and giving them love and care.

Respond to the needs

Contraceptives = To prevent pregnancy, couples would have to decide on a particular procedure, device or medication that would prevent the chances of pregnancy.

Advantage

Avoidance of unplanned pregnancy.

Protection from STI's or Sexually Transmitted Infection/ STD.

Most contraceptives are reversible.

Couples can decide the gap between each child in a family and the number of children to have in a family.

Disadvantage

Some of the process, especially surgical contraception, is irreversible.

Some women complains to simple harmful side effects like irregular bleeding, development of cancer cells, weight loss or gain and much more.

Tobacco Regulation Act of 2003(RA 9211)

Purpose

To promote a healthful environment.

Inform the public of the health risk.

Subsequently limit all tobacco advertisiment and sponsorship.

Protect youth from being initiated to cigarette smoking.

Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002 (RA 9165)

- A policy imposed by the government to deal with the state's problem with illegal drugs, particularly how it affects the youth.

Aims to:

Protect the integrity of all Filipinos

Pursue a serious and an intensive campaign.

Make sure that people with legitimate medical needs.

Provide effective mechanisms or measures to reintegrate into society.

Consumer Act of the Philippines, 1992(RA 7394)

- To protect the interest of the consumers and buyers of product and services. It also set and maintain standards of conduct for both business and industrial sectors.

Philippine AIDS Prevention and Control Act of 1998 (RA 8504)

HIV or Human Immunodeficiency Virus, weakens your immune system by destroying important cells that fight disease and infection. Over time HIV can destroy so many of your T-cells or CD4 cells, a key part of your immune system, that your body can't fight infections and disease anymore. When this happens, HIV infection can lead to AIDS.

AIDS or Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, a complex illness with a wide range of complications and symptoms. AIDS is the final stage of HIV. When individuals reach this stage, they are at high risk for opportunistic infections due to their badly damaged immune system.

HIV is found in specific human body fluid like:

Pre-seminal fluid(pre-cum)

Vaginal fluids

Semen(cum)

Breast milk

Rectal(anus) mocous

Signs and symptoms of HIV in the early stage:

National Blood Services Act of 1994 (RA 7719)

- Promoting Voluntary Blood Donation, providing for an adequate supply of safe blood, regulating blood banks and providing penalties for violation thereof.

AIMS to have full voluntary blood donation considers:

Seat Belt Use Act of 1999 (RA 8750)

- Requires mandatory compliance by motorists of private and public vehicles to use seatbelt devices and requires vehicle manufacturers to install seat belt in all their manufactured vehicles.

AIMS to protect the drivers and passengers from injuries due to vehicular accidents.

Covered in this law are:

The driver and front seat passengers while inside a running vehicle

Children 6yrs and below should not be in the front seat of a running vehicle

Signs should be posted instructing front seat passengers to wear seat belts while inside a running vehicle.

Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (RA 10175)

Cybercrime offenses

1. Illegal Access

Access to the whole or any part of a computer system without the right to do so.

2. Illegal Interception

Technical means and without right, of any non-public transmission of computer data to, from or within a computer system.

3. Data Inference

Reckless alteration, damaging, deletion or deterioration of computer data without right, including transmission of viruses.

4. System Interference

Intentional alteration or reckless hindering or interference with the functioning of a computer or computer network by inputting, transmitting, damaging, deletion, deteriorating, altering… including the introduction or transmission of virus.

5. Misuse of Devices

Intends to criminalize the intentional possession of or trafficking in “hacker tools” designed to facilitate the commission of a crime.

6. Cybersquatting

The acquisition of a domain name over the internet in bad faith to profit, mislead, destroy reputation and deprive other from registering the same.

Computer-Related Offenses

1. Computer-Related Forgery

The act of knowingly using computer data which are the product of computer-related forgery as defined herein, for the purpose of perpetuating a fraudulent or dishonest design.

2. Computer-Related Fraud

The unauthorized input, alteration or deletion of computer data or program or interference in the functioning of a computer system, causing damage thereby with fraudulent intent.

3. Computer-Related Identity Theft

The intention acquisition, use misuse, transfer, possession, alteration, or deletion of identifying information belonging to another, whether natural or juridical, without right.

Content-Related Offenses

1. Cybersex

Willful engagement, maintenance, control or operation, directly or indirectly, of any lascivious exhibition of sexual organs or sexual activity, with the aid of a computer system, for favor or consideration.

2. Child Pronography

Committed through a computer system.

3. Unsolicited Commercial Communication

Transmission of commercial electronic communications with the use of computer systems which seek to advertise, sell or offer for sale products and services is prohibited.

4. Libel

Publication of writing, pictures, cartoons, or any other medium that expose a person to public hatred, shame, disgrace, or ridicule, or induce any ill opinion of a person, and are not true.

Anti-Child Pronography Act of 2009 (RA 9775)

Any representation of the sexual parts of a person primarily for sexual excitement.

Role of the state: Promote the welfare of children and protect them from physical, emotional, moral, spiritual harm, and injury.
