Forage Project Fall 2026
Overview
As part of the course project, each student is required to complete the Forage virtual experience program KPMG Career Catalyst: Audit. This program simulates steps in the audit process and provides practice with professional-style deliverables. You can access it through the link posted on Canvas under “Modules.”
This assignment is designed to complement our in-class learning. You are encouraged to complete the program’s tasks in tandem with the topics we cover during the semester.
Requirements
Complete all required tasks within the Forage program. These may include:
Writing a professional-style email.
Recording a short video response (see “Recording Your Video Response” below).
Preparing journal entries and other audit-related tasks.
• Submit the following items through Canvas by the due date:
Your official Forage completion certificate.
Copies of all deliverables you prepared in the program: your email, your video response (recorded outside of Forage), and your journal entries. See instructions below.
Failure to follow instructions and upload all deliverables will result in a zero, no exceptions.
Recording Your Video Response
Forage does not allow you to download videos recorded inside its platform, so a video recorded only in Forage cannot be submitted for credit. Record your video outside of Forage so you have a file to submit:
Before starting the video task in Forage, read the prompt and note any time limit.
Record your response using your own device or software (for example, your phone’s camera, your laptop’s webcam, or a Microsoft Teams or Zoom recording) and save the file.
Complete the video step in Forage as instructed so you receive your completion certificate.
Upload your saved video file (e.g., .mp4 or .mov) to the Canvas assignment. If the file is too large to upload, save it to your UTA OneDrive and submit a sharing link instead. Make sure the link’s sharing settings allow me to view it.
Other Submission Materials
Make sure to save various submissions, including your email and journal entries, in a separate file, before submitting them to Forage. You may not be able to access them out of Forage and I am unable to assist. Failure to submit these will result in a zero. Forage provides model answers after each task. Submitting those model answers as your own work is an academic integrity violation and will result in a zero.
Grading [2% overall] – Due December 1, 2026
Your grade for this component will be based on completion of the Forage program and submission of all required deliverables.
Deliverables will be assessed for completion and professionalism rather than content accuracy, as the focus is on skill development and exposure.
Optional Forage Opportunities
In addition to the required KPMG Career Catalyst: Audit program, Forage offers other audit-related programs, including:
PwC Forage program
EY Forage program
These optional experiences are encouraged if you are considering a career in auditing, as they offer additional practice and insight into professional expectations. However, they will not count toward your project grade.
