The Endocrine system
<<introduction<<
there are two main systems in our body:
the endocrine system:
- slow but longer effect
- uses hormones
the nervous system
- high-speed process
- uses neurons
<<Hormones<<
hormone is a chemical substance produced in glands that travels through the bloodstream and only react with specialized cells or tissue
<<Difference between Exocrine and Endocrine<<
| %%Exocrine%% has duct %%which emits info from the outside%%and is there for sweet, saliva productrionis notpart of the endocrine system | %%Endocrine%% has no duct%%secretes directly into bloodstream%%produces hormones that react with glands part of the endocrine system |

<<The connection between Nervous and Endocrine system<<
Similarities:
- respond to stimuli
- coordinate the bodys activities
- have target cells
%%Coordination between the two systems is vital for survival, the body cant functions without it.%%
Coordination enables:
- carry out activities
- respond to stimuli
- detect changes in environment
- production of hormones
<<Pituitary gland<<
connected to hypothalamus and there are two part: the antrerior and the postirior part
the anterior %%makes%% and the posterior %%stores%% hormones
anterior hormones
GH, FSH, ACTH, and more
posterior hormones
ADH and Ocitonin
<<Adrenalin<<
adrenalin start in th e brain which activates th ehypathalamus that produces CH and activates the anterioe part of the pituitary gland with produces ACH and that travels to the part above the kidney which activates adrenalin
adrenalin causes:
- dialatien of blood vessels
- blood is tranported to the main organ
- reduces the feeling of pain
- %%increase in strength%%
the effect of adrenalin canm last for up to hours after ist subsides.
%%it is produced in the medulla in th eadrenal gland and is released into the blood, sending impulses to organs%%
<<Types of Glands<<
- Hypothalamus - controlling pituitary
- Pituitary gland - secretes hormones that effect other glands
- Parathyriods - regulates calcium
- Thyriod gland - affects metabolism
- Thymus - stimulation of immune response
- Adrenal gland - trigger fight-or-flight
- Pancreas - regulates sugar level
<<other info<<
tropic - only react with glands of the endocrine system
non-tropic - doesnt react with part of the endocrine system
