• Where does the translation of the mRNA begin?

  • Will start to the AUG nearest the 5’ cap region of the mRNA

  • It will happen to the area in the 5’ region

  • Met is always the start codon

What regions do we need in translation

• We use ribosome to start the translation process

• initiation favros are removed

• tRNAs are used to attach corresponding amino acids by reading a sequence of 3 nucleotides in the RNA

• The start codon establishing the open reading frame

  • it will start directly at the open reading frame

What happens if we delete some 2 nucleotides

• It will completely shift the open reading frame downwards from the deletion since when we add codons we are reading nucleotides in multiples of 3

What are the stop codons and what do they do

• they encode for their own stop of translation

• they will not add any additional codons
