The past tense is used to talk about actions or situations that happened before now (in the past).

â How to form the Past Tense? / Comment former le passĂ© simple ?
1. Regular verbs â add -ed to the base verb:
walk â walked
play â played
cook â cooked
Examples:
I walked to school yesterday.
She played football last weekend.
2. Irregular verbs â different forms, you must learn them:
Examples:
go â went
have â had
eat â ate
Examples:
He went to the cinema.
They had dinner at 7 p.m.
We ate pizza last night.

Use did not (didnât) + base verb
I didnât go to school yesterday.
She didnât watch the movie.
