Restorative Justice

\ This approach focuses on the needs of the victim, the offender, and the community. It may allow the victim to have a role in the process such as being involved in victim-offender mediation, testifying regarding the impact that the crime has had upon her or his life, or being allowed to ask questions about the incident.

Fines and Community Service

\ This is the most common sentencing option in Canada for lesser crimes. A person convicted of a crime may receive a monetary fine, community service hours, or both.
