le futur simple
in November 9 slideshow
is a verb tense used to describe an action that’ll happen in the more general/less specific future
usually used for hypothetical events or events that are more separate from the present moment
also in sentences that use a subordinate clause of time, introduced by “when” or “as soon as”
To form le futur simple (regular)
Subject + verb in the infinitive (except for -RE verbs) + special ending
special endings are the conjugations for avoir, except for nous and vous: for avoir, nous would be conjugated as - avons, and vous would be conjugated as - avez. For the futur simple, nous is conjugated as -ons, and vous is conjugated as -ez
ER and IR verbs - stay in the infinitive RE verbs - remove the ‘e’ and add ending
Je | -ai |
Tu | -as |
Il/Elle/On | -a |
Nous | -ons |
Vous | -ez |
Ils/Elles | -ont |
ex. Je + finir = Je finirai (I will finish)
