  • Skin lesions with hypo- or hyperpigmented macules often on the trunk, neck, and proximal extremities

  • Yellow-green fluorescence under Wood’s lamp

• Treatment

  • Over-the-counter antifungal like

    • Clotrimazole

    • Miconazole

Herpes - pain and blistering lesions

• HSV type 1 - lips or perioral area

• HSV type 2 - Genitalia or perineal area

• Treatment

  • Oral Acyclovir, valacyclovir, famciclovir

  • pain management

    • topical lido

    • oral ibuprofen or acetaminophen

Molluscum Contagiosum

• Characteristics

  • pink to purple UMBILICATED lesions that are depressed in the center

• Treatment

  • Observation - typically improves over 6-12 months

  • Refer for physical removal

  • topical imiquimod cream, podophyllotoxin

  • preventive measures

  • patient education
