Chapter 1 Reading and Writing: Becoming a Critical Reader

~Overall: I will read the selections in this book so I can answer study questions and prepare for class discussion (and, often, for writing). More significantly, however, you will also read to evaluate the ideas of others, to form judgments, and to develop original viewpoints. In other words, you will engage in critical thinking.
