Pathfinders is a youth organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
History of Pathfinders
Origins
Summer of 1879: Initiated by Luther Warren (14) and Harry Fenner (17).
Idea: Start a boys' society to help young church members prepare for heaven.
Initial membership: 5-6 members, expanded to include girls.
Activities included missionary work and a temperance pledge.
Development
1907: Establishment of the Missionary Volunteer Department.
281 youth societies reported worldwide, 5,329 members.
A tent meeting held to organize a global youth structure.
Name chosen: Seventh-day Adventist Young People's Society of Missionary Volunteers.
1909: Launch of the Junior Missionary Volunteer Society for younger kids.
Brief Timeline of Pathfinder History
1879: First Young People's Society organized.
1892: E. G. White's call for youth focus.
1907: Missionary Volunteer Societies formed.
1929: Pathfinder name used for the first time in a summer camp.
1966-1970: Various classes and names updated (e.g., Pioneer Class to Ranger).
1979: Name changes to Adventist Youth (AY).
1994-2019: Several International Pathfinder Camporees held with increasing attendance.

Aims and Motto
Aim: "The Advent Message to All the World in My Generation."

Law and Pledge
Law: Includes principles like keeping the morning watch, being honest, and caring for health.
Pledge: Commitment to purity, kindness, truth, and service to God and people.
