I 1950 IMMORALITY ACT: sexual relations between different races illegal
GROUP AREAS ACT: authorized governments to displace occupants of an area for one ethnic group.
Responsible for the forcible eviction of 3.5 million African people between 1951-86.
I 1951 BANTU AUTHORITIES ACT: Home areas of African people were ‘tribal reserves’, led by Tribal leaders appointed by the government
I 1952 NATIVE LAWS AMENDMENT ACT: standardized the use of passes with new reference books
I 1953 BANTU EDUCATION ACT: Removed control over African education, ended state subsidies for mission schools forcing most to close.
