- Need to know where fluid drains:
- Right lymphatic duct
- Thoracic duct
- Understand what drains from each into the blood.
- Lymph return to the heart is similar to blood return in veins.
Lymph Node Regions
- Need to know the regions served by lymph nodes:
- Axillary nodes: Underarm
- Inguinal nodes
- Cervical nodes
- Identify what regions these nodes drain.
Spleen Functions
- Need to know the functions of the spleen.
- Example mentioned: Kid kicked in the stomach, Mrs. Croft's brother (no spleen).
Barrier Defenses
- Need to know what barrier defenses are (select all).
Foreign Pathogens
- Need to know the specific term for foreign pathogens that the body fights off.
Types of Immunity
- Need to know the four types of immunity:
- Active
- Passive
- Natural
- Artificial
- Examples discussed in class will be on the quiz.

Regulatory T Cells and Autoimmunity
- Understand what regulatory T cells attack; understand when your body attacks itself.
- Need to know the term for the body attacking itself (autoimmunity).

- Dead vaccine
- Weakened vaccine
- Vaccines based on genetic makeup
- Know the terms for different types of vaccines. These can be found in the textbook on pages 404 and 405.
