    • An agreement between a king and their servant. God and his people.

    • God promised a child in his old age.

  13. How do we see God’s faithfulness throughout the line of Abraham?

    • Isaac: God fulfilling his covenant with Abraham. Giving him kids.

    • Jacob: He was a deceiver, God used it for good. Forgives. Line of Jesus.

    • Joseph: Blesses Israel through him, turns evil into good, 2nd in command.

    • Israel: Promised people. Jesus was always with them, though they continued to fail.

    • Moses: Keeps him alive when he was a baby. Delivers Israel from captivity.

  14. How did God show his power to the Egyptians & their gods?

    • Sending the 10 plagues to Egypt:

    • Made so that the people (through God’s strength) can be more like Him and glorify Him in their actions

    • The first 4 are vertical (relationship with God)

    • The last 6 are horizontal (relationship with others)

      • Celebrate the Exodus, remember the freedom from Egypt/slavery

      • Shows God’s care for his people. Jesus became perfect sacrificial lamb.

      • Practice of forgiveness and repenting

      • Celebrates how Jesus fulfilled this offering himself as the perfect atonement for humanity’s sins, reconciling us with God and providing eternal salvation.

      • Day of rest to focus on God and worship him

      • Reflecting on how Jesus rested on the seventh day after creation. Dedicate the day to time with the Lord.

    • God warned them that they will lead their people badly

  22. What is the difference between a Nagid and Melek king?

    • Nagid king: Leads their people in faithful worship

    • Melek king: Does not lead the people into covenant faithfulness with God, but rather rules his own way with milirty might.

    • Accusation

    • Call to repentance (Stop what you are doing, recognize what you’re doing is wrong, turn back to God)

    • The Day of the Lord (Reminder of God’s love, care, salvation)

  24. What was one of the Prophets message? How was it received?

    • Hosea taught people about how God continually forgives.

    • Reminded Israel of God’s faithfulness towards his covenant, teach them about the love of God.

    • Israelites were convicted. Prophets weren’t loved.

  25. What is a parable? Why did Jesus teach in them?

    • A familiar story that teaches a lesson.

    • Used them so that it is easier to understand and that people can relate to it.

    • Don’t store up your treasures on Earth but in Heaven.

    • Be ready, because we don’t know the hour that Jesus will come back.

    • Need to follow his instructions.

    • Fulfilled when Jesus came to Earth.

      • The True Vine (Isaiah 5:1-7, John 15:1)

    • Him and his family received the Holy Spirit, just because of what Peter spoke

    • Peter had a vision about the clean and unclean animals (gentiles)

    • God is opening up the Church to non-Jewish people.

    • See this throughout the Bible (Ruth, Rahab)

    • God used uncommon people (Samson, Ruth)

    • Opens up to the gentiles (Roman Centurion, Naaman)

    • God wants everyone to be a part of His kingdom

  34. What was the message of the book of Jude? How does it apply to our lives today?

    • The message is about contending for the faith, warning about the wheat and the tare.

    • As Christians, we need to stand up for the faith.

    • We need to be rooted in the word so that we can stand against false prophecies.

    • In today’s world, so many people are christianity.

    • We must stand up for what is true.

  35. What does the book of Revelation reveal?

    • The Day of the Lord is not a bad thing.

    • Satan tricks us, we mess up really bad, and God saves us.
