Austria-Hungary then wanted to declare war on Serbia, German said they would support a-h through sending a ‘blank cheque.’ Serbia then asked for Russia protection, on the 28th of July 1914, a-h declared war on Serbia, Russia then started mobilizing its army. Then on the 1st of august Germany declared on Russia, 4th Britain declared war.
