Angle classification

An angle is made up of 2 rays with a common vertex.

Acute: between 0 and 90 degrees

Right: 90 degrees

Obtuse: between 90 and 180 degrees

Straight: 180 degrees

Angle bisectors:cut an angle in half

Angle pair relationships:

  • Adjacent angles-(next to) share a common side

  • Complementary angles- 2 angles that add up to 90 degrees

  • Supplementary angles- 2 angles that add up to 180 degrees

A transversal is a line that intersects 2 more lines.

Corresponding, alternate exterior & interior angles are all congruent.

Same side exterior & interior angles are consecutive. If 2 lines are parallel, these two angles are supplementary.
