Testing and Weather Contingency Plans
Testing Procedures
- Testing will continue for all present students.
- The fifth-grade hallway will be used to bring students into the building on testing days.
- Breakfast will be provided upon entering the campus. The cafeteria needs to be informed of the late breakfast.
- Students will have a bathroom break after getting off the bus.
- Backpacks will be left in the hallway.
- Students will be escorted to locations where test directions will be read to them before entering the testing rooms.
- Fifth-grade classrooms will be used.
- Pre-K aides will escort Pre-K students directly to class.
- Cresco will escort Kinder and first-grade students to the library, where directions will be read to them.
- Teachers will group present students together, and late-arriving students will have directions read to them separately.
- Campbell will escort second and third-grade students to their testing locations.
- Risa Olivas will escort fourth and fifth-grade students to their testing locations.
Contingency Plan for Early School Shutdown
- If school needs to be shut down early due to weather conditions (e.g., snow), central office will provide directions.
- Students who have already started testing should be allowed to finish.
- If necessary, the tests will be paused or suspended based on district directives.
Weather Considerations
- The weather forecast is being monitored for potential snow or wintry mix, particularly on Thursday.
- CBS 7’s First Alert weather app, which provides hourly updates, is being used to track weather conditions.
504 Documents
- A bulk print of 504 documents (A through M) is in progress.
- McLemore knows how to print specific ones, but assistance is needed in their absence.
Classroom Walk-Throughs
- A sweep of classrooms has been initiated to check on conditions.
- A second sweep of fifth and fourth grade will occur later.
- Checking on Ms. W (Wagner) is also important.
Morning Issues and Expectations
- Breakfast should not be ongoing in classrooms as late as 5 to 8 minutes after the bell.
- Students should be retrained to adhere to the schedule.
- Students who are late to breakfast should be given a limited time to eat before discarding the rest.
Staffing Issues
- Crespo and Olgin were found sitting and chatting during service time; must address to make sure all kiddos are getting their service time.
- Contacting people for sped interviews.
