Rizal retraction

Controversial since Rizal renounced his anti catholic views and went back to the church just before his death (people think he did it because hes afraid of death)

according to testimonies by father Balaguer, a jesuit missionary, during rizal’s exile in dapitan rizal accepted and signed a retraction document prepared by the the superior of the Jesuit Society, Father Pio Pi the night before before his execution

• Though there are no original copies produced after rizals death

Peers of rizal stated no such things happen

People think that spanish government forged this in order to destroy rizals image
