FSCI 2/25
Overview of Witness Identification Procedures
- The agency can require a witness to establish the ownership of fingerprints.
Steps for Submitting Identification Evidence
- When submitting evidence regarding the individual associated with fingerprints:
- Typically, important data will be included at the top of evidence cards (as previously mentioned).
- Photographic Evidence:
- If available, a mugshot should be attached to the submission.
- If no mugshot is available, submit an alternative photograph, which could include:
- A photo of the individual.
- A photo of the individual's driver's license or another form of identification.
Fingerprint Evidence
- You must ensure that the suspect's fingerprints are already on file with the relevant authorities.
- It’s critical to enlarge specific areas of the fingerprints for clearer examination and comparison.
