What are the two steps in protein synthesis? Describe what occurs in each step and where each occurs in the cell. 

1. Transcription – DNA is converted into mRNA 

2. Translation  - mRNA is turned into a sequence of amino acids 

What are the 3 types of RNA? State the exact role of each in protein synthesis. 

1. mRNA – Brings the instructions/message for making a protein from the nucleus to a ribsome  

2. rRNA – Makes up part of a ribosome  

3. tRNA – Brings amino acids to the ribosome  

Define codon.

Where would you find an anticodon? 

At one end of a tRNA molecule
