Definition of Imagery
- A word or group of words that create mental pictures in order for them to "tickle" and awaken the reader's senses and perceptions.
Types of Imagery
- Visual: Describes what we see (colors, shapes, and sizes).
- Auditory: Describes what we hear (noise, sounds, silence).
- Tactile: Describes what we feel or touch (hot, cold, rough, seamless).
- Olfactory: Describes what we smell.
- Gustatory: Describes what we taste (sweet, sour).
