I: Linea aspera of the femur
A: Adducts and laterally rotates the thigh
2) Adductor Longus

A: Adducts and laterally rotates the thigh
3) Adductor Magnus
0: The ramus of the pubis. Only acts on the femur
I: Linea aspera of the femur
A: Adducts and laterally rotates the thigh
4) Biceps Femoris
0: Long head - Ischial tuberosity
short head - lateral lip of the linea aspera
I: Lateral surface of the head of the fibula and the lateral condyle of the tibia
A: Flexes the leg, the long head extends the thigh
5) Gracilis
o: symphysis pubis and the pubic arch
I: Medial surface of the tibia just below the condyle
A: Adducts the thigh and flexes the leg
6) Rectus Femoris
0: Anterior inferior iliac spine and just above the acetabulum of the os coxae
I: Tibial tuberosity, via the patella and the patellar ligament
A: Extends the leg; the rectus femoris also flexes the thigh
7) Sartorius
0: Anterior superior iliac spine
I: Proximal medial surface of the tibia, below the tuberosity
A: Flexes the thigh and the leg and laterally rotates the thigh
8 Semimembranosus
0: Ischial tuberosity
I: Medial surface of the proximal end of the tibia
A: Flexes the leg and extends the thigh
9) semitendinosus
0: Ischial Tuberosity
I: Medial surface of the proximal end of the tibia
A: Flexes the leg and extends the thigh
10) Vastus Intermedius
0: Anterior surface of the shaft of the femur
I: Tibial tuberosity, via the patella and the patellar ligament
A: Extends the leg, also flexes the thigh
11) Vastus Lateralis
0: Greater trochanter and lateral lip of the linea aspera of the femur
I: Tibial tuberosity, via the patella and the patellar ligament
A: Extends the leg, also flexes the thigh
12) Vastus Medialis
o: Medial lip of the linea aspera of the femur
I: Tibial tuberosity, via the patella and the patellar ligament
A: Extends the leg, also flexes the thigh
