• Weaken and terrorised the army by hit and run attacks   * Dressed like ordinary Vietnamese people   * Moved on foot or by bike   * Use light weapons to move quickly and quietly   * Stayed close to US troops so US planes couldn’t bomb them   * Sabotaged roads and bridges   * Ambushed the ARVN   * Made networks of tunnels to hide in and escape by   * Use simple traps   * Fight battles, but not very often so it was a surprise
• Drive the enemy out by normal means
