Multiplying with the same base: Add the exponents.
Dividing with the same base: Subtract the exponents.
Raising a power to another power: Multiply the exponents.
Zero power: Any number raised to the zero power is 1.
Negative exponent: A negative in the exponent means the reciprocal.
Helpful Reminders
Coefficients : Be sure to reduce the fraction made by the coefficients.
Parentheses: It is usually best to simplify inside the parentheses before raising the expression to the exponent outside.
