fool's mate

Black win:

  1. f4, e3

  2. g4, Qh4#

Black wins in 2 moves because white pushed their f-pawn and their g-pawn so that they couldn’t block against the upcoming check by the Queen on h4.

Bird’s Opening, From’s Gambit (3rd variation in the video):

  1. f4, e5

  2. fxe5, d6

  3. exd6, Bxd6

  4. Nc6, Qh4+

  5. g6, Bxg6+

  6. hxg6, Qxg6#

White can do anything but move the e-pawn, d-pawn, g6 or Nf6, or Kf2 for this to work (I will discuss about these lines in another note). Move the h-pawn then we will play Bg3#, people are more likely to fall for this trap than the others.

White win:

  1. e3, f5

  2. d4, f5

  3. Qh5#

Black needs 2 moves and white goes 1st so make it 3 moves to checkmate

Sometimes black will play the Dutch:

  1. d4, f5

  2. Bg5, h6

  3. Bh4, e3

  4. fxh5, Qh5#

This is more likely to happen as Black plays moves that eventually lead to the same fool’s mate effect.

In case Black realizes the checkmate threat and pushes the e-pawn:

  1. d4, f5

  2. Bg5, h6

  3. Bh4, e3

  4. e3, Qh5+

  5. Ke7, Bxg5+

  6. Nf6, Bxf6+

  7. Qh4+, Kf7

  8. Qxd8

If Black takes your Bishop with the pawn you take the Rook on h8 with your Queen.

Say they don’t block with the Knight then you devour the Queen with the Bishop.
