ME IN THE GLOBAL COMMUNITY"

• These incidents happened around the world

and we received them through different forms

of media.

• Communication affects in our daily lives. It

can foster positive and negative effects in us.

• The combination of technology and social

media have influenced all ages of humanity.

How Do Cultural and Global Issues affect

Communication?

• Social Media have played a very significant

role in playing in the public eye, and that

cultural and global issues now weigh in

heavily on how we communicate with one

another.

• If one is not ready to determine to seek the

authenticity of what is shown in the public, we

can be deceived of what other forms of media

such as "flak" and "trolls"

• "Online communication may cause "trolls"

where people involved here plant discord on

the internet by posting ideas that causes

people to argue, divide people because of

hatred, post hurtful words, and off topic. This

can the downside of the community that this

generation has built"

• Online experts have yet to develop a full-proof

solution to subvert this threat to no less than

world peace

• The deluge of messages through online

global community usually begins with the

heads of states tweeting or posting in the

social media accounts on how they

sympathize with another heads of states

experienced either natural or man-made

calamities

• This is all too predictably followed by regular

individuals doing the same to the extent of

changing their profile pictures to flags of a

disaster stricken nation.

How was Communication back then, and now?

• In 1400's, printing press was invented.

• This was followed by a telegraph

• Telephone began to invade the homes and

offices all over the world.

• 150 years ago, photography was introduced

and followed by television 100 years ago.

• Television dominated the world until cyber-

world was born.

• Internet was then invented.

➢ Despite the privileges afforded in this

generation by internet technology in terms of

communication, one must still look to

language as a tool to convey messages for

well-meaning purposes because the way we

communicate help shape the community that

you are building for yourself.

➢ This generation, particularly the millennials

made themselves to express themselves

freely at their convenience of using different

platforms in technology.

"There is close relationship between the

language and the culture of a community-they

are inextricably related, so that one cannot

understand or appreciate the one without the

other. Culture may reflect in body language,

customs, superstitions, and even expressions

and friendliness. Although these definitely

observed the cultural norms of a particular

society, the impact of culture on language use

is deep and thorough. In this context,

language refers to lifestyle of a community;

the way its members behave, their beliefs,

their values, and most importantly, they way

they communicate. Every act of language, be

it written or spoken, is a statement about the

position of its author within the social structure

in a given culture."
